The leaves are deeply savoyed, and the leaf margins are rippled. This swiss chard variety is the most commonly used variety in South Africa. In South Africa, Swiss chard is commonly referred to as spinach (or “spinasie”)– and is mostly sold in bunches or as a processed product in supermarkets.
