Garden Bean Lazy Housewife is a late-season pole variety bean that is often slow to start climbing, Lazy Housewife produces an abundance of large, medium-green leaves. The white flowers are followed by broad, thick, medium-green pods that are very fleshy and entirely stringless. They contain five to seven beans, which are white with light gray veins. Picked young, the beans are brittle, fine-textured and have a fine flavour. Lazy Housewife beans can be harvested and eaten as green beans (75-80 days at approx. 12-15cm long), shelly beans (when the pods begin to dry), or dried beans (left till the pods are leathery).
